Sentence Finisher

I am a sentence finisher. Anytime anyone pauses slightly, I try and finish their sentence. I don't discriminate who I do it to- family, friends, neighbors, strangers etc. I don't do it on purpose. It just kind of happens. I blame it on being a twin. Sunny has the very same problem. Stewart and I came up with a rule that if he pauses long during his sentence, it is fair game for me to jump in and guess what he is trying to say. I know most people don't like it, so I try to be conscious of it. It was really hard for me back when I worked at eBay because I had a co-worker that sat next to me with a pretty severe stutter. It was a sentence finisher's nightmare. I wanted to finish his sentences for him so badly, I knew what he was going to say and he would just get stuck on one or two words. But I didn't want to offend him and so I would try to be quiet the whole time. But Sunny and I grew up finishing each other sentences and it's a hard habit to break.

Twice this last week, I was telling Evie something and as I paused, she chimed in and finished my sentence. It caught me off guard and made me laugh.

It doesn't bother me at all, I say... guess, guess away my friends.

I don't even notice it when I'm talking to you. Granted, maybe that means i talk too much. Oh well, i 100% agree with your top 5/bottom 5 this week. And yes the brother's volleyball game was hard to watch... yuck.

I'm trying to work on it too, it drives Jonathan crazy. I now have my friends alert me when I start doing it too much. It is a problem.
