The labor story:
I started feeling contractions at 10:30 pm Monday night, but I thought they were just some more lame Braxton hicks since they weren’t coming regularly. So I went to bed at 11:00 pm. I woke up at 2 am feeling some very uncomfortable contractions, so I timed them for the next 15 minutes and they were 5 minutes apart. I panicked since my doctor wanted me to go to the hospital when they were 8-10 minutes apart. I woke Stewart up and he sprung into action like the house was on fire. Luckily, I had my hospital bag pretty much packed all ready. I called Sunny (she was my middle of the night person, until my mom could drive up) … she didn’t answer… I wasn’t surprised- it was the middle of the night … 5 phone calls later… still no answer… so much for my middle of the night plan- you would think you could count on a womb-buddy. :) The contractions got more intense at this point … and there was no more time to waste… we grabbed Evie out of bed and jumped in the car. It was 2:30 am and I called my parents in route- my dad answered after 2 rings (dad’s are the best) and I told him to have my mom meet us at the hospital. We got to the hospital and yadda, yadda, yadda, 2 hours later … little Stew arrived. It all happened so fast.
The anesthesiologist had just barely given me my epidural and 15 minutes later I had Stew. The epidural wasn’t fully in effect yet… but it was working enough to at least take the edge off.
Me and the little man are doing great… and I’m glad to finally be home. Evie so far is still very excited about her new little brother. Although, we’ll see how she does when Grandma Patsy goes home. It’s been like Disneyland for her these past few days with Grandma.
And of course I'll be posting more pictures as the days go on.

Congratulations King Family! I am so glad everything went so well and baby Stewart is here.
Just wanted to say for the record that Jonathan had sent a fax the night Litte Stew came and had forgotten to switch it back. I remembered in the middle of the night 3am and switched it. Just 30 minutes too late. But I don't think she would have had time to drop off Evie anyways. Glad you got your epidural Amber!
