Stewart wins! I checked the Utah driving handbook. Whoever pulls to the line first and makes a complete stop has the right of way. There’s no rule that you have to yield to on-coming traffic when making a left turn at a 4-way stop.
I still feel like it is a safer way to navigate and I will probably stop a few seconds later than the other car across from me to make sure he knows he has the right of way. Or perhaps I’ll do my best to avoid any super busy 4-way stops. Luckily for me, there aren’t very many 4 way stops left in Utah. Utah likes the roundabout. Which in my reading… I learned that in a regular 4 way intersection, there is 56 potential points of conflict, whereas with a roundabout there are only 12. Hmm, interesting.

Its very true that its probably way better not to assume that the other person is knowledgeable of the intricacies of the Utah Driving Code... Lets just call it a tie :)
I love the picture btw... its sad that its probably the best picture available of me... maybe we could touch it up a bit in photoshop....
Kansas is also showing great love for the roundabout and I have to admit it makes me happy. So much faster than the 4-way stop (except for people who don't know how they work and sit in front of you forever waiting until NO ONE is in sight).
