The whole family went to support Evie. She hopped up on the chair like she's done it before. Stewart, the concerned Dad, carefully oversaw the Claire's employee sanitizing everything. After the girl marked Evie's ears with a dot, she had us look to see if the placement was right. She did a pretty good job, but we had her slightly move one dot over. My sweet engineering husband was not satisfied quite yet, and busted out a ruler that he has on his key chain. It was quite entertaining watching him measure the dots on Evie's earlobes to make sure they were exactly spaced the same.
I wish I had taken a picture of him in action, but Ryan was keeping me busy. So here is the ruler that was used.
Once the dots were deemed perfectly spaced, Evie didn't want the lady to count down, she told her just to do it. After the first earring was in, Evie yelled, "Ouch" and then didn't want the other ear pierced. We told her to just squeeze daddy's hand because it was happening whether she wanted it or not.
But after a few more minutes of pain, she was one proud little lady. And I have to say, they make me smile every time I see them as well. :)
TOP 5
1. Evie is getting baptized this coming Saturday.
2. I got a second calling in our ward. I'm the new Activity Days Leader. I'm very excited about it.
3. The Walmart App that checks local prices and then gives you the difference in a gift card. We're up to $10.00 so far after a few shopping trips.
4. Going to JoAnn's Fabric by myself and getting to look at whatever I wanted for as long as I wanted.
5. Randomly running into an old friend from Springville at Walmart. She was out here visiting friends. It was so fun to see an unexpected familiar face.
BOTTOM 5
1. Evie throwing a tantrum at the pool because her brothers and the other two little boys she was playing with wouldn't listen to her. We all had to leave because she wouldn't calm down. That was super fun.
2. Too many books on hold all becoming available all at once. I have 6 books to finish in 10 days. Challenge accepted.
3. Stepping on a tiny little Lego in my bare feet. I almost cried it hurt so bad.
4. Neighbors with little dogs that don't pick up after them. Just because the poop is small doesn't mean you can leave it on the grass lady.
5. Our front door naturally closes on it's own, so if the kids let it close by itself it slams shut. It drives me nuts.
