Evie's 8th Birthday

Evie turned 8 last week on the 7th.
She didn't want cake this year, just doughnuts.  So Cowboy Doughnuts it was, and I think we all loved them more than cake.

She wanted a picnic at one of her favorite parks for dinner.
They zipped lined their little hearts out.
And then chased after wild bunnies.  I think we counted 10 bunnies at one time.

She had a happy birthday.  Whew!

TOP 5

1.  Evie will get baptized at the end of the month.
2.  Brief storms coming through all last week, so I didn't have to water my friends garden across town.  It was king of convenient.
3.  Our house staying pretty clean all the time, now that we've started an allowance for keeping areas clean.
4.  Project Runway.  I love a good sewing show even with the crazy drama.  And the judges are being especially brutal to the contestants this time.  They're not sugar coating anything.  It cracks me up.
5.  Making soft pretzel bites.  They turned out amazing.  The kids and I devoured them.

BOTTOM 5

1.  School doesn't start until after Labor Day.  I'm ready to send them both now.
2. Going to Green River for Stewart's work party and coming home with a huge mosquito bite.
3. Killing a monstrous spider in the boys room.  It took forever for him to die after I kept spraying him with spider spray.  Although, during the killing Evie said, "Just die all ready."  and that gave me the giggles for several minutes.
4. Having both Evie and Ryan coming to our bed in the middle of the night with bad dreams and wanting to sleep in our bed.  Our bed is big, but not that big.
5. Ryan on Fast Sunday saying really loud in our quiet Sacrament meeting, "I want to talk up there."  So Stewart took him up with him while Stewart bore his testimony.  And on the way back, Ryan kept saying, "I didn't get to talk, I didn't get to talk."  They made it back to our pew and the whole ward is watching and can hear everything.  Ryan is starting to cry at this point and now yelling, " I want to talk."  So Stewart takes him back up there, since no one else has moved.  And as soon as they get to the podium, Ryan of course gets nervous and says, "You talk again Daddy."  The whole ward burst out laughing. Not our best moment.   We're hoping it doesn't happen again next month.
